THE CONCEPT
“Bearnana,” a signature beer from the Yodbeer brand, is a Witbier crafted from a blend of essential ingredients, including water, malt, hops, yeast, orange peel, coriander seeds, and, most notably, sun-dried bananas. During the brewing process, the sun-dried bananas are delicately introduced in small pieces, enhancing the banana essence. After fermenting for 10 days, additional bananas are incorporated into the beer to extract the distinct banana flavor. This results in a beer with a delightful aroma reminiscent of caramel, honey, and the unique scent of sun-dried bananas.
Yodbeer’s journey into beer production commenced in 2015, marked by a wholehearted embrace of their identity as a Thai brand. Their visionary approach revolves around seamlessly integrating Thai elements into their beers, drawing inspiration from their immediate environment. The revelation that sun-dried bananas, a beloved Thai sweet, harmonize exquisitely with their Witbier style, played a pivotal role in the deliberate choice to incorporate this exceptional ingredient. Yodbeer set out to craft a beer that not only stands out but also encapsulates the very essence of Thailand.
For us, Bearnana represents an intriguing Thai beer. The aromatic essence of sun-dried bananas seamlessly blends with malt, creating a distinct caramel scent with subtle undertones reminiscent of chocolate. The fresh green scent of hops, orange peel and coriander seeds prevents the beer from becoming overly sweet. This well-rounded profile sparks an olfactory journey, offering a fragrance dominated by the essence of sun-dried bananas, interwoven with malt, hop CO2, orange peel, and coriander seed aromas. As you savor Bearnana, the prominent notes are caramel and chocolate, creating a delightful and uniquely Thai olfactory experience.

MY THOUGHTS
Who would think to blend banana and hops? YODBEER is one of the most unique perfumes I have ever tried.
If you enjoy gourmand fragrances, you should definitely give YODBEER a try. From start to finish, it exudes the scent of caramel-coated dried banana, hops, and malt. Surprisingly, the combination of caramel with hops and malt works well, giving off a slightly woody impression. This combination is unique and unlike any other perfume. Even though I’m not usually a fan of gourmand scents, I find myself repeatedly sniffing my wrist because it’s so addictive.
The intensity and longevity of the fragrance are perfect, and even in the hot Bangkok summer, the scent isn’t too heavy.
If you love gourmand fragrances, I highly recommend trying a sample.
