THE CONCEPT

On a moonlit night, the radiant glow of the moon casts its light upon the surface of the “Anodat” pond. Its reflection, more beautiful than the moon we admire daily in the sky, is clearly visible. As the waves gracefully move the water, the reflected moon dances in harmony. A gentle breeze caresses each blooming lotus, sharing the moonlight’s embrace and releasing a unique, delicate aroma that feels both refreshing and unforgettable. This enchanting scene inspires the creation of a fragrance known as “Chanalaj”. Thai literature speaks of this scent’s ability to travel for miles, reaching as far as the peak of “Krailat” mountain, the dwelling place of the god Shiva.

At the core of “Chanalaj” lies the enchanting aroma of lotus, characterized by its distinct herbal scent. This captivating fragrance is released when lotus flowers bloom under the moonlit sky, exuding a more delicate aroma than during daylight hours. Normally, lotus flowers will not bloom at night, but they occasionally do so in the presence of ample moonlight, resulting in a breathtaking display. “Chanalaj” embodies the unforgettable essence of a moonlit night when lotus flowers blossom, evoking the image of a stunning pink lotus spreading its fragrance across the “Anodat” pond throughout the night.

MY THOUGHTS

A beautiful floral acuatic fragrance dedicated to Lotus. The top notes are enhanced with hyacinth, neroli, and mandarin, making them less floral. The transition from the top notes to the heart notes is remarkable, with the aquatic floral scent persisting throughout. I was concerned that the ylang-ylang might be too overpowering, but my worries were unfounded. The lotus adds a refreshing quality to the floral fragrance. Especially on the blotter, the lotus scent, which is the theme of this fragrance, comes through strongly, creating a fantastical atmosphere. The base notes consist of a simple structure of vanilla and musk, yet they harmonize beautifully without disrupting the fragrance up to the heart notes. The scent of lotus persists until the very end, staying true to the theme of the perfume.
