I envisioning Tonka Latte as an instantly inviting, deeply comforting and gratifying gourmand fragrance, inspired by one of my everyday pleasures. Before going to Dusita boutique each morning, I love to indulge in a hot milky beverage and a flaky, buttery croissant at one of the cafés of the Saint-Honoré area. Tonka Latte reflects that daily ritual of heart-warming coziness and pure enjoyment. The fragrance ultimately celebrates finding happiness in life’s small pleasures.

Tonka Latte marks Parfums Dusita’s very first venture into the world of gourmand fragrances. When I first saw the notes — milk, caramel, chocolate — I hesitated, despite not being averse to gourmands. I feared an overly sweet indulgence. Yet, when I finally encountered Tonka Latte at Pissara’s event in Bangkok, I instantly regretted my hesitation. I once believed gourmand perfumes weren’t for me, but if Tonka Latte defines what a gourmand can be, then I must confess: I adore gourmand fragrances.

The fragrance opens with a whisper of fresh milk, soon unfolding into the soft, refined sweetness of fine chocolate. It feels gently sweet rather than sugary — a tempered sweetness, more subdued than vanilla’s, that soothes rather than overwhelms. As the latte accord deepens, resinous and woody tones begin to emerge, revealing warmth and texture. A hint of almond lends a delicate nuttiness. There’s a graceful restraint to its sweetness — elegant rather than sticky — perfectly embodying Pissara’s signature refinement. On my skin, I catch a beautiful depth of cacao, rich and quietly magnetic.
