THOUGHTS
Sakura stands apart from the many cherry blossom fragrances on the market. While most cherry blossom perfumes focus on the delicate and fleeting nature of the blossoms, Sakura boldly expresses the cherry tree itself, evoking a dignified and poised presence. Rather than highlighting only the softness of the flowers, this fragrance seems to portray the entire cherry tree — including its trunk, branches, and leaves.
The fragrance opens with fresh citrus notes of mandarin and lime, creating a bright and uplifting introduction. Soon after, spices such as coriander seed and pink pepper begin to emerge, adding depth and character. On my skin, these spicy nuances become particularly prominent, reminiscent of the subtle scent that might drift from a cherry tree itself. On a blotter, green notes resembling cherry leaves also appear, further embodying the botanical character of the cherry tree.
In the heart, the scent of cherry blossom begins to bloom. The cherry blossom note feels remarkably realistic, yet it is not a simple floral. Gradually, other florals such as osmanthus, cyclamen, and freesia emerge, creating a layered and nuanced floral composition. Still, cherry blossom remains the central focus. On my skin, traces of the top-note spices linger, adding a gentle warmth to the floral heart.
In the dry down, sandalwood, musk, and amber appear, leaving a creamy and soft trail on the skin. Overall, Sakura is a refined yet bold cherry blossom fragrance, capturing both the delicacy of the blossoms and the quiet strength of the cherry tree.
