CONCEPT
David Chieze once told us about a flower he had seen during his studies in Lyon – the Liane de Jade. Striking in form, hypnotic in color, but without a scent. That absence stayed with him. Years later, he returned to it with a question: what would this flower smell like if nature had completed it? Jade Amour is his answer – a fragrance imagined from silence, shaped with emotion and precision. Intimate and luminous, it brings presence to something that never had one.

THOUGHTS
Jade Amour is my favorite fragrance among the three scents in the Artist Collection by Thomas De Monaco Parfums. It was created from an intriguing concept: what if Liane de Jade — a flower known for having almost no scent — actually had a fragrance? This imaginative idea alone makes the perfume feel poetic and quietly fascinating.
Beautifully composed, Jade Amour captures my personal image of Europe. Whenever I arrive at a European airport, I often notice how the air is filled with a gentle blend of people’s perfumes and the clean scent of soap. There is something soft, elegant, and comforting in that atmosphere. That delicate harmony of scents is exactly what Jade Amour evokes for me — subtle, refined, and naturally beautiful without trying too hard.
The fragrance opens with bright citrus notes of Yellow Mandarin and bergamot. The opening feels luminous, slightly sweet, and airy, creating a sense of transparency. It immediately brings to mind a spring morning in a European city — pale sunlight reflecting off quiet streets, crisp air, and the gentle calm of the early day.
As the fragrance begins to settle, a soft warmth gradually emerges. A rounded, understated vanilla appears, adding a gentle smoothness without becoming overly sweet. Soon after, delicate floral nuances of ylang-ylang and jasmine quietly reveal themselves. These flowers remain subtle and restrained, never overpowering the composition, but instead adding depth and elegance.
Rather than feeling artificially constructed, the fragrance carries a natural warmth, reminiscent of soft sunlight on a pleasant spring day. There is a comforting glow to the scent, paired with a gentle transparency that keeps it light and airy. A slightly sweet citrus nuance continues to act as a delicate accent, maintaining brightness throughout the development.
As the fragrance moves toward the dry down, muscone and sandalwood emerge, wrapping the scent in a soft, skin-like warmth. These notes bring cohesion and balance, creating a smooth and intimate finish that feels effortlessly natural. The muscone adds a subtle, clean softness, while sandalwood contributes a creamy, comforting depth.
Jade Amour is undeniably beautiful, but what I appreciate most is its quiet simplicity. Despite its elegance, it never feels overly polished or extravagant. Instead, there is a gentle, unpretentious charm — a sense of warmth, calm, and understated beauty. For me, Jade Amour feels like a peaceful European morning captured in scent — soft, luminous, and quietly comforting.
